The Symphony Silicon Valley has been entertaining audiences for over 17 years in San Jose.
Cecilia Phillips reports:
Originally the San Jose Symphony was the organization that concert goers would have seen classical performances from, and had it remained in business it would have been celebrating its 140th year, but due to its closure in 2001, the Symphony Silicon Valley took over. After just a 3 month hiatus of music the first concert was held. Despite all of the many music lovers who are in attendance to see the often 80 plus person ensemble, the Symphony did not always have the following and support that it does today. The Symphony Silicon Valley which is one of the largest in the state, has many supporters, corporate sponsors and subscribers but as with all businesses it needs constant support from the community
