San Jose celebrates new arts installation in downtown

San Jose celebrated new art installation in a partnership with the office of Cultural Affairs and Burning Man Project
The partnership known as “Playa to Paseo”, brings pieces from the Annual art event, Burning Man, to Downtown San Jose. The art Featured comes from Burning man artist Laura Kimpton and Jeff Schomberg.
Two pieces will be temporarily on display for the community to enjoy. The pieces titled “HAHA and XO” bring illumination and the creative spirit to the city’s landscape.
The pieces are large works, both over 10 feet tall, and command a big presence adding to the vibrancy of the city. HAHA is on display at the Hammer Theater plaza and XO can be found at city hall.
One piece was originally presented at Burning Man as XO XO. The art was split in two for display with the other half was at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. Be sure to catch these pieces while they are still in San Jose. Both will be available for viewing until the end of February of next year.
